About the QuickSwap Field Guide
We're an independent editorial project, not QuickSwap. Here's who we are, how we work, and why you can trust what you read here.
Who we are
The QuickSwap Field Guide is an independent, reader-focused publication covering QuickSwap and the wider Polygon DeFi ecosystem. We are a small team of long-time decentralized-finance users and writers who have been active in crypto since the early Ethereum days — through bull runs, bear markets, and more than a few platform collapses. That experience shapes our house style: security-first, hype-allergic, and obsessive about the details that actually protect your money.
We are not affiliated with QuickSwap, Polygon Labs, or any exchange. This site is not the official QuickSwap website, and we don't speak for the protocol. The official DEX lives at quickswap.exchange. We exist to explain how the ecosystem works, in plain language, so that people can use the real products more safely.
Why we built this
Most crypto content is either thinly disguised marketing or AI-generated filler that confuses the basics. We kept watching newcomers lose money to avoidable mistakes — wrong-network withdrawals, phishing clones, blind token approvals, misunderstanding what "non-custodial" really means. This guide is our attempt to write the resource we wish those people had read first: honest, current, and genuinely useful.
Our editorial principles
- Independence first. No protocol pays us to write favourably. Our reviews include the downsides.
- Cite the source. When we quote a statistic or product fact, we note that it comes from official QuickSwap materials or public analytics — and remind you it can change.
- Safety over hype. We never promise profits or encourage trading. We focus on infrastructure, fees, risks and self-custody.
- Plain English. If your grandparent couldn't follow it, we rewrite it.
- Currency. We review pages regularly and date them, because this industry moves fast.
How we're funded
Producing accurate, regularly updated guides takes time. To keep the site free, some links to third-party services — such as the centralised exchange CEX.IO — are partner or affiliate links. If you use them, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. These links are always marked and use nofollow sponsored attributes. Crucially, affiliate relationships never determine our editorial conclusions: we recommend the safe, boring, correct approach even when it earns us nothing.
What we are not
We are not financial advisors, and nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. We don't hold your funds, we can't recover lost wallets or seed phrases, and we'll never ask you for them. Cryptocurrency and DeFi carry substantial risk, including the total loss of your funds. Always do your own research and only risk what you can afford to lose.
